How-To Guide

How to View Your Collections in Deglaze

Your recipe library has two views: My Recipes, one big searchable list, and My Collections, where your collections and smart collections like Recently Added live. The switch between them hides in plain sight — behind the title at the top of your library. Here's how to flip it, and how the new To Organize view shows exactly which recipes you haven't sorted yet.

  1. Tap “My Recipes” at the top of your library

Open your library — the book icon in the bottom tab bar. By default it shows My Recipes: every recipe you've saved, in one searchable list.

The title at the top is more than a label — it's a menu. Tap My Recipes (note the little arrow next to it) to open the view switcher.

  2. Choose “My Collections”

A small sheet slides up with the two views. Pick My Collections.

Deglaze remembers your choice — your library stays in the collections view until you switch back the same way.

  3. Find Recently Added, pinned at the top

The collections view starts with your pinned smart collections: All Recipes, and Recently Added — everything you've saved in the last 30 days, newest first. Below them come the collections you've made and Deglaze's automatic ones.

Tap Recently Added to open it.

  4. Flip to “To Organize” to see what needs sorting

At the top of Recently Added there's a new toggle: All, or To Organize — just the recent saves you haven't filed into any collection yet, each with a count.

Work through the list whenever you have a spare minute. When every recipe has a home, the queue is replaced by an All Organized screen — inbox zero, recipe edition.

  5. Shortcut: tap “See All” on your home screen

There's a faster route when you just want your latest saves: the Your Recently Added section on the home screen. Tap See All and you land in the same Recently Added collection, toggle and all.

The two library views, explained

My Recipes is the firehose: every recipe in one list, with search, sort, and filters. It's the right view when you know roughly what you're looking for.

My Collections is the map: your pinned smart collections (All Recipes, Recently Added, and workflow ones like On Meal Plan and On Grocery List), the collections you've created, and the categories Deglaze's AI tags automatically — Course, Type, and more. It's the right view when you're browsing by mood or occasion.

Whichever you pick sticks until you change it, and searching works from anywhere.

Keep To Organize at zero without trying

The To Organize queue only fills up with recipes you saved without sorting. You can now skip the queue entirely: when you save a recipe through the share sheet, an Add to collections row lets you file it into collections — or create a new one — before it ever lands in your library.

Sort recipes as you save them and the To Organize view becomes what it should be: empty.

Frequently asked questions

How long do recipes stay in Recently Added?

Recently Added shows everything you've saved in the last 30 days, newest first. After 30 days a recipe simply drops out of that smart collection — it stays in All Recipes and in any collections you've added it to.

What counts as “organized”?

A recipe leaves the To Organize view once you've filed it yourself — added it to at least one collection or edited its tags, whether from the recipe, the collection picker in the share sheet, or bulk select. Deglaze's automatic AI tags don't count: the queue tracks what you've personally sorted, not what the app labeled for you.

Why don't I see the To Organize toggle?

The toggle lives only on the Recently Added collection — other collections don't have it. If you don't see it there, update Deglaze to the latest version from the App Store or Play Store.

Can I add a recipe to collections at the moment I save it?

Yes — that's the companion to this feature. When you share a recipe into Deglaze, tap Add to collections in the share sheet to file it before it ever hits your library. Recipes you sort at save time never show up in To Organize. Read more in the Save It Sorted announcement.

Does Deglaze remember which view I use?

Yes. Your library keeps whichever view you last picked — My Recipes or My Collections — until you switch again. Searching your library always searches recipes, whichever view you're in.

Is any of this a Pro feature?

No — both library views, collections, Recently Added, and the To Organize toggle are all part of the free plan. The free plan includes a limited number of recipe imports per week; Deglaze Pro makes imports unlimited and adds features like meal planning and smart grocery lists.
