Deglaze

AI Recipe Assistant

This feature is in beta. To request access — or share feedback, good or bad — email help@deglaze.app. We read every message.

The Deglaze connector gives Claude and ChatGPT access to your Deglaze recipe library, grocery list, meal plan, and cooking history. With these rich sources of data, AI becomes your personal recipe and meal planning assistant.

Setup steps are below — it only takes a minute.

Once you have things set up, here are some examples of what you can do:

  • “Analyze my cooking tastes based on my Deglaze data.” — Run this first; it gives you a good idea of how much the LLM can glean from your data. The more you cook with Deglaze, the smarter the assistant gets.
  • “I want to plan 4 meals for the week with Deglaze. Focus on seasonal ingredients and I want to minimize waste.”
  • “I have a large bunch of mint and half a bunch of asparagus. Help me find a recipe from Deglaze or create a new one.”
  • “Create a side salad recipe that complements the chicken dish I’m having tonight and save it to my Deglaze library.”

Set up with Claude

Works with Claude on the web and in the Claude desktop app. Open the “Add custom connector” dialog to jump straight to the right screen, or follow the steps below.

  1. Open Claude on the web at claude.ai, or open the Claude desktop app, and sign in.
  2. Open Customize → Connectors.
  3. Click "Add custom connector," paste the Deglaze server URL below, and continue.
    https://mcp.deglaze.app/mcp
  4. Click "Connect" on the new Deglaze connector to start the sign-in flow.
  5. When Claude opens the Deglaze sign-in page, log in with the account you use in the app.
  6. Start a new chat, click the + button in the message box, choose "Connectors," and confirm Deglaze appears in the list. (If it doesn't, refresh the page.)
  7. Try a prompt like "Analyze my cooking tastes based on my Deglaze data." — Claude will ask permission to use Deglaze the first time.

Set up with ChatGPT

You can only add apps from the ChatGPT desktop website (chatgpt.com in a browser) — the mobile apps don’t expose the settings yet. Once it’s added there, it’ll show up everywhere you use ChatGPT.

ChatGPT calls these “apps” now, and the surface is changing quickly. The steps below are known to work today; if you’re on a Pro, Business, or Edu plan, you may also have a simpler path through Settings → Apps without enabling developer mode — feel free to try that first.

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Settings → Apps, click "Create App."
  3. Set the name to Deglaze, paste the Deglaze server URL below as the MCP URL, set Authentication to OAuth, and tick the "I understand" checkbox.
    https://mcp.deglaze.app/mcp
  4. Save the app, then sign in with your Deglaze account when ChatGPT opens the sign-in page.
  5. In a new chat, click the + button in the message box, choose "More…," and confirm Deglaze appears in the list. (If it doesn't, refresh the page.)
  6. Enable Deglaze for the chat, then try a prompt like "Analyze my cooking tastes based on my Deglaze data."
